Key accessibility features

• Keyboard controls: enter data, select chart types and palettes, open dialogs, and export files using Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, arrow keys, and Escape. Focus stays within open dialogs and returns to the triggering control when they close.
• Accessible table and summary: the editor provides a data table and a generated statistical summary alongside the chart so values can be read without relying on the image.
• Semantic SVG: chart images include title and description elements linked through aria-labelledby. Detailed data is available separately rather than creating a keyboard stop for every bar.
• Color and contrast: palettes include Artisan Earth, Okabe–Ito, and IBM Carbon. Quality checks flag low contrast, including the 3:1 threshold for graphical elements. Your chosen colors and labels still need review; a palette alone cannot guarantee an accessible chart.
• Reduced motion: when your device requests reduced motion, scrolling reveals and decorative transitions become static, and the hero message stops cycling.
• Visible focus: interactive controls show a focus indicator so keyboard users can track their position.
• Skip navigation: the first keyboard link takes you directly to the main content instead of repeating the header navigation.

Testing, limitations, and feedback

We use automated checks with Axe Core and Playwright and test keyboard interactions. These checks do not certify every browser and assistive-technology combination, or every chart a user creates. If you encounter a barrier, contact us with the page, device, browser, assistive technology, and steps that caused the problem.
